02/11/2011 - At least two people were killed while six others were injured after a garbage truck crashed into the house of a barangay councilor in Cebu City on Thursday.
Radio dzBB's Cebu affiliate reported on Friday that the incident occurred in Kalunasan village in Cebu City after the truck's driver lost control of the vehicle.
The fatalities were identified as Elvie Mabatin, 25, and Joseph de los Santos, 21.
The report said the victims were fixing a motorcycle when the truck hit them.
Among the six injured was Gerardo Lasingue, 56, the driver of the garbage truck.
The dzBB report quoted Lasingue as saying his truck's brakes suddenly failed, forcing him to crash the truck into the house of village councilor Oliver Ocampo.(GMA News)
