11/11/2010 -THE Cebu City Fire Department will have a new fire marshal starting today.
Supt. Aderson Comar will replace Ismael Codilla in a formal turnover ceremony today at the Regional Office of the Bureau of Fire Protection in Central Visayas (BFP-7) along Natalio Bacalso Avenue.
Comar was in Manila yesterday when Aloveel Ferrer, regional director of the BFP-7, called and informed that he would take his post today.
Ask if he was ready to take the responsibility as a city marshal, Comar said, “Let’s wait and see.”
“I am just happy. Since this is the wish of the maayor that I take this post, so I’ll take the challenge,” he added.
Comar is currently assigned in the Special Operations Division in the National Office of the Bureau of Fire Protection.
Codilla welcomed the development.
“Somehow I am happy since I will now have an opportunity to focus on my duties as the deputy director for operations in the regional office of BFP-7,” Codilla said in a recent interview.
Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama had said that as a new city mayor, he would prefer a new fire marshal and that Codilla was overstaying. (Inquirer)

Cebu City is located on the central eastern part of Cebu Province, an island at the center of the Visayas in Southern Philippines.
