The festival, begun in 2001 during the mayorship of Arturo Radaza who is the husband of current Mayor Paz Radaza, aims to promote the City’s tourism and to honor its patroness, the Virgin of the Rule.

It portrays the City’s major industries and products, which include guitars and
seafood.

“Through this festival, we show to the people what Lapu-Lapu has,” Sangguniang Kabataan Feredation president Reymar Dico said.

Dico said the festival also celebrated the City’s Youth Day.

“This festival aims to inculcate cultural and historical appreciation among the youth of Lapu-Lapu City,” he said.

This year, the festival was organized by the Lapu-Lapu City Association of Barangay Councils and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation.

“We are also thanking our patroness for all the blessings she has showered on the City,” Dico said
