2/24/2010 - CEBU CITY, Philippines – A fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon displaced around 100 families or 500 persons from two adjacent barangay (villages) here, Cebu City Fire Marshall Ismael Codilla said.
The fire destroyed around 80 to 100 houses made of light materials in Sitio Katambisan located in the villages of Tisa and Labangon.
The blaze started around 4:03 p.m. and was placed under control after 40 minutes, Codilla said.
He said the cause of the fire was still being determined.
A woman was reportedly injured although cops were still confirming the report.
