06/08/2010 - CEBU, Philippines - A man who had stepped out of his house to find out who was firing at house was shot to death by the same people who were shooting at it.
Killed was Gerson Castillo, a native of barangay Ulas, Davao City and temporarily residing in sitio Mahayahay, barangay Bangkal, Lapu-Lapu City.
The police are yet to identify the three gunmen and the motive behind the killing.
Police said that at around 1:30 in the morning, Castillo was sleeping at that time when men traveling on a motorcycle arrived and sprayed bullets on his house. The men left quickly.
When Castillo went out of his house to allegedly investigate, the men came back and shot him in the head.
Castillo was taken to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center but expired hours later. (Frreman)
