05/15/2010 - Two robbery incidents occurred along Gov. Cuenco Avenue in Barangay Tejero yesterday – one at a branch of Angel Burger and the other inside a passenger jeepney that was traversing the barangay.
The first incident occurred at 1pm when three persons declared a hold-up while on board a jeepney following the route 01K. One of the suspects pointed a gun at the other five passengers while the other two were divesting the victims of their belongings.
John Danner Telba, 23, a resident of Jagobiao, Mandaue City lost his N2120 mobile phone worth P3,500 cash to the robbers while Marilou Atchinba Villaver, 36, of Casuntingan, Mandaue City lost two mobile phones worth P12,000 and her wedding ring worth P8,000. Another victim, Virgilio Carbor, a resident of Barangay Labangon, Cebu City was divested of his N3300 mobile phone worth P2,000 and his silver necklace worth P500.
A mother and daughter, identified only as Cecille and Camille, also lost their mobile phones worth P9,000 and cash amounting to P800 to the robbers.
Three hours later, a branch of Angel Hamburger along Gov. Cuenco Avenue was robbed by two men who posed as customers.
The attendant, Liezel Quinain Empas, 20, said the suspects arrived around 4pm and pretended to be customers. One of the two then pulled out a gun and declared a hold-up, demanding that she hand over her earnings.
Because of fear, she immediately gave the money to the suspects, after which, the two men hurriedly left the area on board a motorcycle.
Investigation is now ongoing for the possible arrest of the suspects (Freeman)
