August 15, 2009 Cebu City – The Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) Company has launched its Negosyo Boost here to help increase the productivity of small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) through the use of information technology (IT) in Cebu.
Negosyo Boost is part of the PLDT SME-Nation program strategically marketed for small and medium businesses featuring IT solutions for development activities using high-tech telecommunication and up-to-date connectivity services.
It offers business packages intended for those either starting or expanding their business.
Christian Lim, PLDT SME-Nation Product Manager said, during the Negosyo Boost launching Saturday, that the new product is PLDT’s way of helping SMEs here to be globally competitive, as these firms dominate the country’s business sector, employing some 70 percent of the current workforce.
Lim said that to make local SMEs globally competitive they must embrace IT benefits mainly featured in Negosyo Boost packages conveniently bundling both broadband connectivity and business-enabling hardware like netbooks and printers.
Nilo Bantilan, PLD SME head for Visayas and Mindanao disclosed that through the new product, the SMEs can now avail of affordable IT business solutions to increase its market and productivity.
