NCR local arm opens new hub in Cebu Asiatown IT Park

August 21, 2009 - THE local arm of the US-based business solutions provider NCR inaugurated its new hub at the Cebu Asiatown IT Park in Cebu City, ushering the continued expansion of the company’s facility in Cebu.

NCR Cebu Development Center Inc. has been a locator at the Cebu Property Ventures and Development Corp. (CPVDC)-owned Asiatown IT Park since February 2004 when it first occupied 1, 512 square meters at eOffice, a one-story structure.

NCR later expanded and is now occupying 6,974 square meters of space at the eBloc Tower this year.

The company claims to be the only one focused beyond a niche self-service technology, geography or market. It promises to continue to offer a broader perspective that enables its customers not only to achieve goals but to transform their business models with their new expansion.

CPVDC president Francis Monera welcomed NCR in this new structure, reaffirming the partnership of the two companies.

“Our relationship with NCR is one which we have nurtured based on mutual trust, respectful partnership and shared vision for Cebu’s potential in terms of global growth,” Monera said.

Narinder Singh, managing director of NCR Cebu Development Center Inc., in turn commended the relationship and projects built by CPVDC.

“It is a great company to work with, very professional, and its quality of work cannot be matched with any other builder,” Singh said.

Singh noted that the eBloc Tower offers the biggest floor plate in Cebu which is required by the scale of their operations, adding that its building has a design for fit-out without wasting too much space.

The eBloc is a project of Asian I-Office Properties Inc., a special-purpose vehicle created with the joint efforts and resources of CPVDC and the Ayala Land Inc. Corporate Business Group.

The 25-hectare Asia town IT Park is the biggest IT and business-processing outsourcing hub outside Metro Manila. Hosting the biggest industry players the location currently gives employment to close to 15,000 people. (Written by Willy Rodolfo III / Reporter)
